AI video tools

AI video tools mostly sell credits. A credit buys different amounts of video depending on the feature, so the free plan and the first paid tier are the most useful numbers to compare.

These entries come from official pricing pages. Where a page left something unclear, we list it as a research gap instead of picking a number.

How to choose in this category

Who this is for

Creators, marketers and small businesses who make short videos from a script, a recording or an avatar and need to know the limits, watermarks and rights before publishing.

Problems it solves

  • Turning a script or article into a video.
  • Presenting with an avatar instead of filming.
  • Editing recordings and dubbing.

How to choose

  1. Decide whether you need script-to-video, avatars, clips from prompts or editing of your own footage.
  2. Compare free plans: minutes, resolution and watermark.
  3. Check commercial-use terms for the plan you will use.
  4. Read what a credit buys. Credit costs differ by feature and can change.
  5. Test one real script in two tools and check the output before paying.

Counted from our records of the 7 tools here: 5 have a confirmed free plan, 1 offer only a free trial, 4 price per seat, 7 meter credits or usage, and 6 show prices without naming the currency.

Cost and billing warnings

  • invideo AI says unused credits do not roll over and it can change credit costs without notice; its annual prices carry a promotional label.
  • Fliki's prices were read in rupees while its own FAQ says USD.
  • Credits are vendor-defined units. Synthesia and ElevenLabs give rough conversions; many pages give none.
  • Most video tools here show "$" without naming the currency.

Privacy, data and licensing questions

  • Check who owns the output and whether free-plan videos are watermarked or public.
  • Check the vendor's rules on avatars, cloned voices and consent. Get written permission to use anyone's likeness or voice.
  • Fliki says subscription plans include a commercial licence and shows commercial rights as not included on Free. Read the terms for any other tool.
  • Check what happens to your uploads.

We have not verified any vendor's data handling and do not give legal advice. See the privacy review checklist.

Best first steps before paying

  1. Use one short script you own.
  2. Export on the free plan and note the watermark and resolution.
  3. Check the commercial-use terms for the plan you would pay for.
  4. Record the credits the test used before buying.

What to look for

What the free plan really allows

Look at video length, watermarking and export resolution, not just the word "free".

Credits and what they buy

Check whether the page says how many credits a minute of video costs. If it does not, treat the plan as harder to budget.

Avatar and generative approaches

Some tools present avatars speaking a script; others generate clips from prompts; others edit footage you recorded. Pick by the job, not the label.

Team features

Seats, SSO and brand controls usually sit on higher tiers. Check where they start.
